The Election Commission has decided to write to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, urging a prompt resolution to the issue concerning the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP).
This decision was made during a meeting of the Election Commission held this morning (30) at the Election Secretariat premises in Rajagiriya.
Special attention was also given to several matters related to holding the presidential election during the meeting.
Notably, this is the first time the Election Commission has convened since the announcement of the 2024 presidential election.
