The Supreme Court has concluded its consideration of the Fundamental Rights (FR) petitions challenging the appointment of Deshabandu Tennakoon as Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The court will announce on 24 July whether it will grant leave to proceed with the petitions.
Seveal parties including Colombo Archbishop Malcom Cardinal Ranjith and Sri Lanka Yound Journalists’ Association filed FR petitions againts the IGP’s appointment.
