The Colombo High Court trial-at-Bar today (4) indicted 24 of the 25 defendants over Easter Sunday terror attacks in 2019 that killed more than 300 people and injured about 500 others.

The indictments were presented in the presence of Justices Damith Totawatte, Amal Ranaraja, and Nawaratne Marasinghe of the Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar. The Attorney-General had filed 23,270 charges against 25 accused including Naufer Moulavi.

However, the 15th accused was not produced in court as he was hospitalized with Covid-19 infection.

A bench comprising justices Damith Thotawatte, Amal Ranaraja and Navaratne Marasinghe are taking up the case.

The Chief Justice has ordered the trial to begin on November 23 this year.
