Sri Lanka Police today (4) said that the CID has started recording statements from acquaintances of the Sri Lankan national who was involved in a terror attack in New Zealand yesterday (3)
In a statement, the Police said the terrorist had travelled New Zealand in 2011 as a student.
He has been identified as a 32 year old resident in Kattankudy.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry Secretary Admiral (Rtd) Jayanath Colombage had told the media that Sri Lanka will provide assistance to the New Zealand authorities as required.
