Emergency regulations on supply, stockpiling and selling essential food items including paddy, rice and sugar for higher prices have been declared by President Gotabaya Rajakapsa from midnight today (30).
The President’s Media Division said in a statement that these regulations would enable the state officials to buy food stocks and sell them to the public at reasonable prices.
Furthermore, Major General (retired) N.D.S.P Nivunhella has been appointed as Essential Services Commissioner from midnight today (30) as well.
