Director General of Health Services Dr. asela Gunawardena today (25) said that a decision on whether to extend current curfew will be taken at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 meeting this week.
The meeting is to be held on 27 August.
Current curfew was imposed on 20 August at 10.00 p.m. following several requests including medical experts, Mahanayaka theras and political parties. It is scheduled to be lifted on 30 August at 4.00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the government on the same day announced that Dedicated Economic Centres island-wide will be opened in the coming weekend for wholesale trade.
