Cabinet Spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath has confirmed that a special investigation is underway into missing sections of the report on the Easter Sunday terror attacks, while assuring that legal action will be taken against those responsible.
During today’s Cabinet press conference, Minister Herath revealed that parts of the committee report on the attacks had gone missing, raising serious concerns.
“We have launched a special inquiry to uncover the truth behind the Easter attacks, including how specific pages of the committee report disappeared. The investigation is progressing, and we are determined to provide the people with answers,” he said.
Addressing delays in the inquiry, the minister stressed the government’s commitment to a thorough investigation. “It’s taking time because we want to ensure the process is transparent and complete. We will inform the public of the findings.”
Minister Herath reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against those involved, stating, “We are making strong decisions to hold all those responsible accountable. There will be no cover-ups—justice will be served.”
