Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa has stated that the North and East would not be merged, nor would police or land powers be granted to these areas under an SLPP government.
Speaking during a media briefing in Jaffna today, Rajapaksa responded to questions from journalists, reaffirming the party’s stance.
“A Buddhist nation protects all religions, languages, and communities,” Rajapaksa said, emphasising that the SLPP would never betray the country or its values for short-term benefits, privileges, or positions.
