State Minister Arundika Fernando announced in Parliament today that he will function as an independent MP from now on, while calling for unity among President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, and other political leaders.
“All parties, including President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, should unite for the sake of the nation. This must be done to prevent an unclean force from coming into power,” Fernando stated.
He further clarified that the “unclean force” he referred to is the National People’s Power (NPP), which, according to him, is attempting to create significant destruction in the country.
