Former Western Provincial Councillor Amal Silva, arrested in connection with the murder of businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as ‘Club Wasantha’, has been remanded until 2 September.
The Kaduwela Acting Magistrate issued this order following Silva’s arrest and questioning on Thursday (August 29) by the Western Province (South) Crimes Division.
Silva is accused of aiding and providing lodging to the second gunman and the car driver involved in the shooting and killing of ‘Club Wasantha’ in Athurugiriya.
