Rukman Senanayake, the grandson of Sri Lanka’s first Prime Minister D.S. Senanayake and a prominent figure in the United National Party (UNP), passed away today (24), as confirmed by family sources.
He was 76 years old. Senanayake served as the Cabinet Minister of Environment and Natural Resources from 2002 to 2004 and was a Member of Parliament for the Kegalle District.
He also held the position of Vice Leader of the United National Party.
