Dulan Sanjula, the owner of a tattoo studio in Athurugiriya, has submitted a confidential statement to the Kaduwela Magistrate regarding the recent shooting death of two individuals, including Surendra Wasantha Perera, known as ‘Club Wasantha’.
Seven suspects, including Dulan Sanjula, have been ordered to remain in remand custody until 5 August. The request for a confidential statement was made by Sanjula when the suspects appeared in court on 10 July. The Kaduwela Magistrate advised him to reconsider and submit the request again at a future court session.
In addition, the magistrate has instructed prison officers to enhance security for the suspects, due to concerns about potential threats from associates of the criminal figure known as “Loku Patee,” who is believed to be involved in the case.
The police have also arrested a 21-year-old woman on suspicion of her involvement in the killing of ‘Club Wasantha’ in Athurugiriya.
