The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced a significant reduction in electricity tariffs, effective from tomorrow.
The overall reduction is 22.5%, bringing relief to domestic consumers, religious establishments, and industrial sectors.
The revised tariffs are as follows:
- Domestic Tariffs: Reduced by 27%
- Religious Places of Worship: Reduced by 30%
- Hotels & Industries: Reduced by 25%
Detailed breakdown of the new tariff rates:
-0-30 units: From Rs. 8 to Rs. 6
- 31-60 units: From Rs. 20 to Rs. 9
- 0-60 units: From Rs. 25 to Rs. 15
- 61-90 units: From Rs. 30 to Rs. 18
- 91-120 units: From Rs. 50 to Rs. 30
- 121-180 units: From Rs. 50 to Rs. 42
- More than 180 units: From Rs. 75 to Rs. 65
