Wanindu Hasaranga Steps Down as T20I Captain

Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed in a press release that Wanindu Hasaranga has decided to resign from his position as the national Men’s T20I captain.

Hasaranga stated that stepping down from the captaincy is in the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket, allowing him to focus on his performance as a player.

“Sri Lanka will always have my utmost best efforts as a player, and I will support and stand by my team and leadership as always,” Hasaranga expressed in his resignation letter.

While accepting his resignation, Sri Lanka Cricket emphasized that Hasaranga will remain a crucial part of their international cricketing plans.
