Basil’s bunch of reliefs

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa announced that the Cabinet has decided to award a Rs. 5,000 monthly special allowance to all public sector employees from January 2022.

Pensioners will be granted Rs. 5000 allowance from January for one year while Samurdhi Beneficiaries will receive an additional monthly allowance of Rs. 1,000.

Estate sector family will be given 15 kg of wheat flour at Rs. 80 per kg.

All disabled armed forces personnel too will receive the Rs. 5,000 allowance.

Purchase price per kg of paddy will be Rs. 75 from Maha season, without affecting the consumers, Rajapaksa said.

Also, the Finance Minister said that a seperate minister will be appointed for each donor countries and donor organisations.
