Sunil Perera, the leader of the popular Gypsies band and a Sri Lankan music icon, passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo, today (6).
He was admitted to the ICU at the hospital yesterday (5) night following a pneumonia condition. According to the family sources, his conditions was stable then.
He was tested positive for COVID-19 in early august along with several family members and discharged from the hospital after recovered.
Perera was 68 years old at the time of his demise.
