President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (3) said that school students will be given Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine when it is approved by the health authorities.
The President had made this remark during the meeting with the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 this morning (3).
The President’s Media Division said in a statement that the task force discussed the matters regarding vaccinating those who belong to 20 – 29 age group.
Earlier, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) also requested to give Pfizer vaccine to school children aged between 12 – 18, as it is the only COVID vaccine that has been approved for children yet.
