Another 98 COVID-19 deathswere reported on 5 August, increasing the COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka to 4,919, The Director General of Health Services said this evening.
This is the highest death toll reported in a day in the country so far. Majority of victims (70)were over 60 years.
Moreover, 54 of the victims are males while the remaining 44 are females. One female victim is below 30 years. Twenty seven victims are between 30-59 years of age.
