State Minister Chamal Rajapaksa today (4) informed Parliament that General Sir John Kotelawala National Defence University Bill would not be taken up for debate this week.
It was reported that the Bill would be debated again on Friday (6).
When UNP MP Ranil Wickremeisnghe asked whether the debate would be held on Friday (6), Rajapaksa told that it would be postpones as government decided to open the floor for opinions and discussions of the public on the Bill.
Meanwhile, several protests against the Bill was held today as well.
